About Au Courant Daily

Au Courant Daily is a slightly-random guide on Fashion, Art and Lifestyle for the Casually-Chic. Written by Lisa Marie Harris, the Editor & Founder of Au Courant, the randomness is presented with an eye towards featuring women's wear classics and timeless items of quality.

Formally trained as a Broadcast Journalist, Writer & Multimedia Producer, Lisa Marie initially worked in her native country of Trinidad & Tobago at leading media networks (96.1 WEfm; Ebony 104.1fm) and advertising agencies (McCann Erickson; Saatchi & Saatchi) for over nine years.

Whilst producing and hosting numerous art, entertainment and style programs in the West Indies, she formed Au Courant Studio LLC in late 2006 as an independent outlet for further exploring her creative interests.

Upon migrating to the US in 2007, Lisa Marie observed how the fashion industry was mostly geared towards addressing the trend-driven or extravagant shopper through unrealistic imagery.

In reaction to this, she sought to create a more accessible publication that celebrated the idea of quality and simplicity, over quantity and ostentation. Something clean, easy-to-navigate and engaging to the reader.

Working as a design intern for Sari Gueron NYC; a curatorial exhibition researcher at the MAD Museum; and an artist's editor for Thomas Dang Vu and Billy Omabegho channeled her thoughts on art, fashion & design.

And thus, Au Courant Daily, and eventually Au Courant Distilled + the biannual print volumes, were launched as a way to tangibly express these growing ideas...
