The Au Courant reader is probably not a Miu Miu acolyte, given that the label tends to go for kitschy, fanciful fashion statements each season whereas the AuC woman gravitates to a more streamlined and classically effortless way of dressing.
Am I wrong? I doubt it.
However, this may all change come next spring when Miuccia Prada's pet collection hits the stores. Look at those clean denim pieces, lined in a very rarefied duchesse satin but perfect for wearing almost anywhere with seamed, ankle-length trousers or neat shift dresses.
Done with a subtle nod to the smoky sixties, each dark-rinsed Miu Miu piece oozes the sort of louche glamour that makes for a well-heeled, smart-looking woman, minus the uppity starchiness generally associated with the general effect.
I love this collection. Especially the way it's styled with D'Orsay pumps, chunky librarian spectacles and longline leather gloves, the latter being an item I wish was already available for purchase from the label....
